Through the Ear to the Heart Sing the Music of Hildegard von Bingen |
| Summary: |
Hildegard von Bingen, 12th century Benedictine Abbess, was a visionary, composer, author, and healer. She gave her songs as a form of spiritual activity. They have the power to unleash latent musical sensibilities and unite individuals into a collective of one heart. When one learns in the medieval aural tradition, music enters the ear, takes up residence in the heart, and emerges as song. Music moves through the singer’s body, offering a direct experience of the wisdom and clarity innate in each of us, in each of our fellow singers, and in all of humanity. Experience Hildegard’s music as she would have taught it—through the ear to the heart—in the medieval aural tradition. Singers of all levels welcome
