Eco-philosopher and Buddhist scholar, Joanna Macy, joins Anita Barrows and Shepherd Bliss to read and recite the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke, widely recognized as one of the modern masters of verse. They will also discuss Rilke’s life and work. Many of the poems read will be from Rilke’s Book of Hours: Love Poems to God translated by Joanna Macy and Anita Barrows. The evening concludes with a gala reception honoring our performers and the fifth anniversary of the Numina Center for Spirituality & the Arts. The book will be available for sale at the reception.
