Event: Song and Silence Retreat: A Weekend of Immersion in the Music of Hildegard von Bingen

Summary:

Hildegard's songs are made of beautiful melodies and images that carry profound wisdom teachings deeply into the heart of the singer. Experience Hildegard's music the way she shared it with others—through the ear to the heart. Enjoy a weekend of song interspersed with silence, reflection, relaxation, good food, reading, writing, drawing, painting, and walking in nature. Browse through a library of books by and about Hildegard. Feast your eyes on her visionary images, and find out about the symbols she used to notate her music. Follow a daily pattern similar to the Benedictine tradition she followed, gathering several times each day to sing and to savor the ringing silence that follows song. Open to everyone who enjoys singing.
